One month into studio life..
.I have worked out of my home for the last 5 yrs. Studio life is different. I am having a difficult time balancing.
Working from home, there are many distractions which is the downfall of working from home, BUT, sometimes those distractions are a blessing. Working in a studio away from home, has many benefits and I really enjoy it. However, it's time management that I am having trouble with.
We, play many roles in our life. I am not just a fashion designer. I am a wife, a friend, a sister, a daughter, a pet owner, a business owner. I am learning what works for me, how to manage my life, and my business. When I worked from home, it was much easier to manage my other roles.
As a business owner, and being the creative force in my business, and currently do not have any employee`s, it is a lot of work. Some days are easier than others, but the last couple days have been overwhelming. I am learning to accept. Acceptance, I never thought it would be so difficult to accept myself for the things I can and cannot accomplish. I am learning to accept that other people`s opinions, which they can have, and even share, don`t put in any value on how I feel about myself. Gawd, that is hard. So today, I am going to enjoy my time, sitting on bed, looking a photo`s from the previous photo shoot, respond to emails that I haven`t had a chance to respond to....do a bit more work on my website...walk my dog`s while the sun is still out, and spend the evening with my husband and friends. Maybe, just maybe....we can have it all......
